How to read bonus terms

Welcome offers are contracts in miniature. This page explains the clauses that decide whether bonus-related winnings can ever be withdrawn — without pitching a specific promotion.

Start with the wagering line

Wagering (or playthrough) states how many times bonus funds — or deposit plus bonus — must be staked before withdrawal of associated winnings is allowed. A lower multiple is usually easier to complete; a higher one takes more turnover. Always check whether the requirement applies to bonus only or to deposit + bonus.

Game weighting changes the real workload

Slots often contribute 100% toward wagering. Table games and live dealer products frequently contribute far less, sometimes zero. If your interest is live roulette or blackjack, a spins-heavy offer may be a poor fit even when the headline looks generous.

Time limits and max bets

Most offers expire within a fixed number of days. Many also cap the stake size that counts while a bonus is active. Breaching a max-bet rule can void the bonus and related winnings under the operator’s terms — read that sentence carefully before you play.

Country, product and eligibility rules

UKGC operators restrict who can claim. Some packages are casino-only; others exclude live tables or certain studios. Previous accounts, self-exclusion and duplicate profiles are common disqualifiers. If anything is unclear, the operator’s help pages — not a comparison site — are the source of truth.

How this ties to our comparisons

On Spin Registry House we note welcome offer type (match, spins-led, package) rather than chasing headline amounts. Game variety and live casino depth remain the spine of our scores; bonus structure is one usability factor among several. See the comparison table for the full scorecard.
